OMunky Sunday

October 25th, 2009 by Phil

OMunky is a relatively new online store that prides themselves on being eco-friendly and staying original.  Rick, owner/creative director of OMunky says that his goal is to provide the world with interesting tees made from eco-friendly materials.  All shirts from OMunky are made from recycled cotton and have an awesome texture that makes the shirt feel like an old favorite.  The other side of the coin is the intention of originality.  While hard for some to achive, OMunky definately succeeds in their attempt to make you do a double-take to figure out what exactly is going down on the shirt.  A nice starting array of shirts is available on the site as well as some canvas belts to complete the look.

We’re reviewing “Harry Hippo,” the Hippo shirt with the bird holding the iPod. I can’t get enough accross on the greatness of the texture of the shirt, it just feels great.  The design is funny, I think the bird makes the design.  I’d buy a shirt with the bird on it by himself.  This design is also available in a girls shirt.

Busted Tee Friday

October 23rd, 2009 by Phil

Well, nothing stunningly new at BustedTees, so let’s take a look at some quality shirts that have been out for a while, and might have been overlooked.  We call this underrated.

Ghost Catcher” combines two classics into one.  I only wish I had that Ghostbuster backpack when I played the game.  Would have made things much simpler.

Price: $20.00

WWF” brings wrestling entertainment to the Far East.  An ironic play on the WWF logo, Panda fighting is something I thought impossible.  I’d imagine it would be like manatees or rabbits fighting or something, not too entertaining but a funny concept.

Threadless $10 Halloween Shirts

October 20th, 2009 by Matt

Threadless has a whole slew (at least 64 of them!) of $10 shirts for Halloween this year. I’ll highlight a few designs I think are worthy of a single Hamilton (the old dude on the ten dollar bill, duh).

First, one of my favorite topics in the whole world, Zombies.
No, not a stupid zombie face on a shirt or something, but the zombie horde surrounding your car, a worst case scenario.

The Horde - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

If you’re like me, it takes way too much time to come up with a creative Halloween costume just to attend a party where you’ll be spilling beer everywhere and trying to play beer pong while your robot arms prohibit your movement… Ok maybe that’s not you, but if you are too lazy to come up with a costume, try this shirt out:

Bone Idol - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Lastly, a complete Vampire killing tool kit. Make fun of that guy who spent a bunch of money on a vampire costume with this simple shirt. It’s got everything you need to get the point across.

Spindustry Clothing & Co.

October 18th, 2009 by Phil

T-Shirt Review is always looking for new upstart companies with good looking clothes and some original ideas.  Today we bring you Spindustry Clothing & Co.  Spindustry started out small, blew up, then reeled it back in out of fear that they were losing their identity and becoming “just another t-shirt company.”  Sacrificing sales for reputation points ranks pretty high up there in our book and as Twain said “A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.”

We received the “Mark Twain” shirt from Spindustry.  At first I couldn’t figure out whether it was a profile picture of Twain or Stalin but then I saw the hair and all was clear.  Soft shirt, nice design.  I’m personally not a huge fan of wearing full shirt images like this, but for Mark Twain I’ll have to make an exception.  Did we mention that there are only 48 of these shirts available? Make haste.

BustedTee Friday

October 16th, 2009 by Phil

Keeping with the Army theme from the past couple of posts, we bring you “Fat Army Man” from BustedTees.  This shirt brings me back to my childhood days of playing with green army men.  I don’t know if I ever had the fat couch potato one, but I always hated the ones with the gun held over their head.  You can’t shoot holding a gun above your head! Worthless in battle!!  I’ll take the guy with the bazooka…

TenBills Tuesday

October 13th, 2009 by Phil

Another Tuesday, another $10 shirt from TenBills.  Well, you can actually get a $10 from TenBills anyday, but we celebrate $10 shirt day on Tuesday.  Today’s shirt is quite a monster.  Knives, wolves, blood, helicopters, and a chic in a bra?  Count me in please.  A bunch of crazy stuff is going on in “Bleeding Heart” and it takes quite a while to take it all in.  Overall a very busy but good looking shirt.  Available in army, silver and girl styles.

BustedTees Friday

October 9th, 2009 by Phil

Here’s a weird one from out friends at BustedTees.  Shirts that combine real warfare and video games are often some of my favorites and this one does not dissappoint.  “1 Up” basically combines vintage army men with vintage Mario.  A real gem from your childhood if you were born between 1984 and 1993.

TenBills Tuesday

October 6th, 2009 by Phil

After laying low for a while our good friends at TenBills have revealed to the world what they’ve been working on: a completely overhauled website as well as way to do things.  Its like a team with not only a new head coach, but a whole new front office.  First off when you visit the site you might ask yourself, “why is there only one shirt?”  Well now at TenBills they are releasing one shirt each weekday, and making it $10 for the day.  After the day is up the price increases to $20.  Paypal is now available to use on the site (huge +++) and shipping and handling is now $2 per shirt.  I’m not too sure how this is all going to play out, with the whole one design a day thing and the $20 after the first day deal.  I can say however that I trust the t-shirts so we’ll stick around and see what happens.

Today’s shirt is “Robot Rebellion: Collector’s Edition.”  This is just one piece in TenBills‘ ” Robot Collection,” with C Manuel Galvez as the contributing designer.  TenBills consider’s him the Kanye of the art world, but more subtle.  So P. Diddy then?  Busy shirt, looks like an old-school Transformers movie poster or comic book cover.  Retro looking, I like it.

Threadless finally has something…

October 4th, 2009 by Matt

I haven’t seen a funny or for that matter, shirt that I would wear, from Threadless in a long time. This one is pretty humorous though.

Magic Mushrooms - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Anyone, so pretty much everyone under the age of 40, knows all about Mario.
