Contrastshop - Contrast shirts for contrast people!

Drinkwear Clothing

July 31st, 2009 by Phil

Have you ever been trying to peacefully drink your way through a 6-pack (12-pack maybe?) of quality beer (the kind without the twist off caps) when much to your chagrin you misplace the bottle opener?  For those of us that have had this problem or other losing-of-the-bottle-opener problems, Drinkwear has a solution.  Every Drinkwear shirt is equipped with a built in bottle opener at the bottom of the shirt so all you have to do is pop the bottle down to your waist and snap that sucker off.  While we’re all about problem solving here at T-shirt Review this shirt might not be the solution for the everyday drinker.  The patch holding the opener is quite big and bulky because the opener is large and circular taking up more room than it really needs to.  For the heavier drinker or consummate Spring-Breaker this line could be a perfect fit.  While these shirts might not be worth wearing for the opener, it can be easily slipped out (just don’t lose it…) and worn just for the threads.

Splatter Tee is a pretty cool design from Drinkwear.  Abstract splatter backs up the off-center Drinkwear D and comes in a variety of colors.  Here’s the “gold nugget” color:

TenBills Tuesday: 8 Feet Under

July 28th, 2009 by Phil

Unfortunately its another Tuesday at TenBills without a new shirt :(   What we can do however is take another quick look into the past and look for some cool designs that we’ve missed.  ’8 Feet Under’ reminds me of that beer commercial where the giant octopus comes out of the pool and starts terrorizing people, except for the guy with the trident of course.  In this design the kraken seems to be destroying everything in its path except for the two little girls (?) holding hands under the leviathan figure.  Why doesn’t it go for them? No clue, its art.  The site says pre-order only, but the pre-order went out yesterday so the shirt should be available.

Crane Game

July 24th, 2009 by Phil

Did you ever play the crane games back when you were young and never win? No matter what angle or how perfect your set-up was you could never get the claw to hold on to the stuffed animal. I always thought it was because the claw was weak, but BustedTees has provided a more in-depth answer about why this phenomenon occurs. Get this shirt and you can share the secret with the world. On sale this week %15 off.

TenBills Tuesday: Bird is My Best Friend

July 21st, 2009 by Phil

Bird is My Best Friend is a Doug Cowan design at TenBills that features an ape and a bird. The ape is apparently posed in a very Buddha-like stance and seems to be very much at peace with himself and his surroundings. I believe this is supposed to represent a relationship between two very different beings that can be mutually beneficial.
However you want to spin it, I think this is a cool design and I really like the way it looks with just the one color on the t-shirt. Available in Army Green, Brown, and Charcoal in Mens and Army Green and Charcoal in Womens. I personally prefer the Brown shirt because the picture is harder to make out on the Green and doesn’t stand out as much on the Charcoal. The Womens design is off-centered down and to the right which I like as well.

July 14th, 2009 by Phil

Well nothing new in terms of shirts from TenBills this week, but we would like to make you aware of a special sale they’re having. Right now at TenBills if you pre-order one of 12 selected designs (including color variations 30 shirts in total) before Monday, 7/20/09, you can use the code PREORDERNOW for 20% off your entire order. A couple of the designs have been featured on TShirtReview before and now is a good time to get these featured $10 tee-shirts for 20% off.

A Crane Family” is one shirt that is included in the sale that we have not featured before. It is a very classy design in my opinion and has a nice Eastern flair.

Price: $10-20%=$8

The Contraption” is an odd design and no matter how long I stare I can’t quite figure out entirely what is going on. The feathers on the stick give it a little bit of a Native American look.

Music Snob: Threadless

July 13th, 2009 by Phil

While we’ve been looking the other way Threadless Tees has come out with some pretty sweet designs that are feature-worthy.

The one that really caught my eye is Music Snob. This shirt was designed to be reminiscent of a random cassette (remember cassettes?) collection from the 80′s. The names on the cassettes were created because they sound funny, but it has been brought to our attention that some of these genres actually exist. I can only imagine…

Snitches Get Stitches: Ten Bills

July 7th, 2009 by Matt

For Ten Bills Tuesdays, we’ll be reviewing their newest shirt titled “Snitches Get Stitches”. It’s a playful and colorful shirt depicting a long time prison / gang slogan about ratting to the police. The shirt is available in silver or black. There’s a Disney feeling to the hands and the cartoon making the shirt all more “friendly”. Unless you stopped to read the shirt, you wouldn’t know what the subject matter was.

Price: $10, as always
