Washing your clothes…

September 18th, 2006 by Matt

I get some emails every once ina while about the proper way to wash the clothes to maintain them, not have them shrink, etc. I figure I’d do a little Public Service Announcement to help everyone out.

I recommend you always wash the shirts obviously with the same type of colors (dark colors together, and lighter colors together). Dark green, black, navy, red, etc can all be washed together. Keep your yellows, baby blues, pinks, etc all together and seperate from the darks.

It’s also said that you should wash your shirts inside out… I don’t sit there and turn my shirts inside out, but when I take them off they are usually inside out. They say this will help maintain the screenprinting.

Wash the shirts in cold water. Tide makes a new color water wash detergent, and I really love it. Not only does the cold water not make your colors run, it will also save you a lot of money on your water bill each month. Here is the tide:

Once the shirts are washed (I also use the normal wash cycle if you have it, not heavy and not delicate), you should put them in the drier on low heat. Not tumble dry(no heat), and not high heat. This may seem a no-brainer to some people, but the higher heat, the more your shirts will shrink. Throw in a drier sheet (make sure you also clean the lint filter before each dry cycle, cotton shirts leave a lot of lint) in with each cycle of shirts.

Take the shirts out after one cycle, they should be dry, it doesn’t take much heat to dry cotton shirts. If you take the shirts out within about 5 minutes of being finished, you can simply hang them up on a hanger (I hang all shirts as I have a large closet), or fold them right away and you should have no wrinkles.

This is your Public Service Announcement from Matt @ Tshirtreview.com!

Naature Clothing

September 16th, 2006 by Matt

I’m kind of getting sick of the shirts with saying on the front, the cheesy stuff, etc. Something fresh was presented to us, Naature Clothing. I didn’t spell that wrong, they spell Nature with two a’s, because they’re just that cool.

They sent us a few different designs. All on American Apparel, three guys tees and one girlie tee. Remember these shrink a full size when washed.

They’re all the same “style” design, just on different color shirts and different color designs. Here’s the ones we got:

They’re all sweet, all amazing quality, and come in great packaging. No damage to the design after a wash and a low heat dry.

Price: $18 each
