The Grudge

September 1st, 2010 by Elizabeth

I never really thought of elephants being particularly vengeful creatures in nature, but for now on I’m watching my back.  Apparently, if you wrong an elephant, he will shank you like an inmate in the Pen.  Good to know for that next family zoo excursion.

I’m a huge fan of Snorgtees.com, the site that produces this shirt.  They have a great selection of irrevently humorous tees.  So if perilous pacaderms aren’t your thing, not to worry, they’ve got you covered.  I thought their “About Us” section is particularly creative:

“Welcome.  SnorgTees got its start back in May 2004 when our group of friends decided that we weren’t meant for a real job. We got our options narrowed down to international jewel thieves or internet t-shirt tycoons. Since it was the middle of the summer, we weren’t able to find enough ski masks, which left t-shirts as our only option. Fast forward a few years and we’ve grown to the point where people mistake us for an actual business. We’ve even shipped a shirt to NASA. That means space. So technically we’re a universal company. But we are still just a group of friends who run Snorg because we enjoy it.”

Verde Styles

August 26th, 2010 by Elizabeth

So I know what you’re thinking: tshirtreview.com is a great site but maybe they’re lacking a voice from the cool female section. OK, maybe you weren’t thinking that, but we’ve decided to add women’s tees to our repertoire anyway. So here you have it: the female perspective.

Here’s a tee I found from Verde Styles.  They make sustainable styles for sustainable living.  Personally, I’m far from being that girl who chains herself to trees in the name of conservation, but I like to help out where I can.

This “Recycle Styles” tee stood out to me because it gets the recycling message across without being obnoxious.  Guilt can be a great motivating factor for change, but as far as my day to day wear goes, I’ll keep on rockin the feel good styles. I also love black/white/red color combos because they’re bold without being over the top.  (However, if you prefer orange or green, they have this style in those colors too.) I would wear it how it’s shown here with black jeans, which are a little rocker but at the same time sophisticated enough for Casual Friday.

Verde Styles is also participating in the Pepsi Refresh Contest.  Help them do good by voting for them

Officers Club

August 23rd, 2010 by Matt

For all of our male British readers out there, I have a great store you may have not heard of. The site is called Officer’s Club, and they sell everything from mens tshirts to mens jeans.

They’re running a great sale on their entire site that we wanted to share, with up to 70% off, plus a huge selection of styles. In addition to being online, they currently have 110 retail locations across England, so if they look familiar, you’ve probably seen them before. Within the company are three clothing lines, Petroleum 68, Petroleum 79, and Ultra Magnetic. Each of these caters to a different clientele.

Here’s some great mens funny t shirts that we wanted to share.

First is Bar Wars, which is a very clever parody I’ve never seen done before. The shirt doesn’t need much explanation and I think it helps bridge a gap between the star wars fans and perhaps the people you’d normally find out at a pub on a Saturday.

Price:
£12.99

Another funny shirt is their “Too Many Dicks on the Dance Floor”. Everyone knows this statement is true at pretty much any dance floor. The shirt comes in blue with pink letters for the bold, or a more conservative white shirt with green text.

Price:
£12.99

Along with the funny shirts, they have some great polo styles that are pretty original. One that struck my attention was their striped shirts. These come in a variety of colors with slight design changes. Here is the yellow for reference. At only £2 more per polo compared to a tshirt, these are extremely affordable for everyone.

Text-A-Holic Shirts

August 10th, 2010 by Matt

Just got back from vacation, so sorry there weren’t any updates for about a week, the beach was too relaxing to try to find internet. You understand, I’m sure.

Anyhow, I’d like to show everyone Text-A-Holic. Here’s one for everyone in England, don’t say I don’t care about you! If this is your kind of thing, these shirts should jump out at you, or make a great gift for a younger generation.

I’m going to pull the info about how the shirts work from their site, since they describe it best.

TEXTAHOLIC is ‘ Fashion in Textstyle’, it’s fun, free and interactive with your mobile phone,
like texting on your mobile phone Textaholic becomes the secret instant method of communicatiion while playing mind games with peoples imagination.
All our designs use the same text alphabet as your mobile keypad. The letter ‘A’ on your mobile phone is on button number ’2′ in abc mode you would press it once. The letter ‘B’ is on the same button ’2′, to get the letter ‘B’ you would press it twice and so on. Below are two examples on how it works, the black tee is predicative text were only the large numbers need to be entered and all the small numbers are zero, the mustard tee is “abc text” were the large and the small number above it needs to be entered.

The first shirt is called “Yes I am CUTE”. The shirt is available in a variety of color combinations to fit anyone’s style.

Darwin Scarface

July 30th, 2010 by Matt

Darwin, one of the most important figures in history. He’s still probably not as famous as Al Pachino in Scarface but oh well. I thought this was a great shirt from Headline Shirts.

Darwin is a swaggering Cuban refugee who has only three things in this life — his balls, his word, and his theory that all living things descended from a common ancestor and have evolved over time through a process of natural selection.

I Make Beer Cooler

July 26th, 2010 by Matt

Got this new shirt from No Star Clothing. It’s partly an inside joke for me, since one of my other companies literally makes and sells beer coolers. Either way, it’s nice to see something from No Star, who we’ve been featuring since the site began.

More factually, this shirt should probably say, “I keep beer colder, longer.” But that is stupid.

2600 Strange Ave

July 20th, 2010 by Matt

As most tshirt enthusiasts know, there are about 1000 crummy shirts for every decent one that you’d even consider wearing. At least that’s how picky I am. In fact, a majority, if not most of the shirts that I get sent don’t end up in my personal closet because I’m not a fan. However, most end up getting worn by friends and family who are always coming over to pick out new shirts.

2600 Strange Ave is a different story. They sent over 2 shirts that actually made sense, made me laugh, and I could wear in front of my mother, a rare combination.

The first is called “Description” and describes the 2600 mentality. They are against expensive $90 shirts that you see some people wearing now a days.
The 2600 Strange Ave Description t-shirt. The folks at Thrillist.com described it best: this shirt
“boasts skulls, wings, gold-foil, unicorns, and crossbones — the words, not the actual things, ’cause those would be ridiculous. And cost $90.”

100% ring-spun jersey cotton. Rib knit collar, and euro style fit (order 1 size larger than you normally would)

Price: $20
Get It Here

The second is one that I wear more, as it’s simple and effective after a second look.
“$90 TShirt”. “Our cotton is magic”. Why else would someone pay $90.00 for a T-Shirt?

100% ring-spun jersey cotton. Rib knit collar, and euro style fit (order 1 size larger than you normally would)

Price: $20

2600 also donates a portion of each sale to charity. Both charities are cancer releated and you can read more about them on the 2600 website.

TV Store Online – Kramer

July 17th, 2010 by Matt

Now that we’re back to doing updates, we have some shirts laying around that we didn’t review before. I apologize to those of you, such as TV Store Online, who sent in shirts and didn’t get a timely review!

So the shirt we’re talking about is from a topic I know almost nothing about, Seinfeld. Unlike the rest of America, I haven’t watched a single episode of the show, so I don’t get any of the jokes. I do understand who Kramer is to an extent, and this shirt is about him I assume.

Price: $17.95

From the site:

“Ever wished you could have your own intern? Order this officially licensed “Seinfeld” t-shirt and NYU will send a promising youngster right over! The blue cotton tee features the corporate logo of Cosmo Kramer’s Kramerica Industries, the fictional company that invents items such as the “The Bro” and a bladder system for oil tankers.”

Sorry

May 14th, 2010 by Matt

We’ve been out of commission for a while, quite a while in fact! This has been our longest time without updates since starting the site 6 years ago! I apologize for this. I have a new writer that will be starting very soon. If you’ve sent us shirts, we will get them up with the new updates!

Buff Tees

March 9th, 2010 by Phil

As Mark from BuffTees correctly pointed out in a comment on our site, we’re back for Round 2 with BuffTees.  From the site that brought you such classics as “Player Hater’s Ball,” Buff Tees has jumped on some more pop culture fads and made shirts about them.  The great thing about BuffTees is that all shirts are available in several different styles and dozens of colors.  Thankfully for us they sent a couple over to check out and see what we think.  BuffTees has a discount on orders of 2 or more through March 12 in celebration of St.Patty’s day!

What was Maryland known for before 2005?  No matter, after 2005 they’ve been known for “Crabcakes and Football“.  “Wedding Crashers” launched this theme into orbit and now the great state of Maryland is reaping the benefits.  The PR benefits I guess, its not like they’re profiting from the shirts!  The design itself is pretty basic, but the shadows in the background add a lot of noise and depth to this shirt.  Has a nice relaxed game day feel, and perfect colors if you’re a University of Maryland fan.

Price: $21.99
Get It Here

Another pop culture classic, you have to go back to the 90′s for this one.  From the famous scene where the two young lovers are perched on the bow of the Titanic, BuffTees has created “Just The Tip.”  Interweaving sexual vulgarity with a tragic disaster usually results in some harsh looks from people so expect some on the streets while wearing this one, but I think its worth it in the long run.

Price: $21.99
Get It Here

Now we’d like to present BuffTees latest theme ripped from the big screen: “Hot Tub Time Machine“.  While the jury is still out on whether this is going to go down as a classic like the last two movies these shirts have featured or just another dumb comedy movie, this is probably the shirt I’ll wear the most.  You really have to see the movie to get it, so that’s nice for starters, and its actually a cool design.  Did they use this design for the Lake Placid Olympics?

Brand New Intention

March 7th, 2010 by Phil

Brand New Intention is an international company who’s self-proclaimed anti-spectator, pro-instigator gear looks to rock the scene wherever its seen and in whatever environment it shows up at.  The designs at Brand New Intention themselves are well designed and on the verge of edgy.  I would wear this stuff out to a club or concert, or as everyday wear.  There’s a lot of stuff going on in the designs, but its not skulls and snakes and dumb stuff like that, its well put together with a purpose.  My favorite is “On Tilt” which is on the delicate wall between sweet and downright scary.  The design is fine until you get close, then it get creepy with the single tear in the King’s eye to top it off.

Nerdy Shirts

March 4th, 2010 by Phil

Since the last shirt we posed about from Nerdy Shirts got so much attention (the cat in the shark’s mouth…) we’ll take a look at a few more.  One of my favorites that developed out of the hit raunchy comedy the Hangover is the Baby Tee.  Freakin’ hilarious, and NerdyShirts takes the stance that its nice to have your own Hangover baby without the trip to Vegas.  I think its nice to have any baby that’s on a shirt and not actually a baby that’s yours!

Price: $19.97

This next shirt is as much at home as any shirt ever found on Nerdy Shirts.  “Its a Trap” is a tribute to that slimy, UGLY, gold fish looking dude from Star Wars.  The Admiral really knows when to point out the obvious.  Not your classic Star Wars shirt, nice to see something original.

Snorg Tees

February 28th, 2010 by Phil

If you haven’t been over to Snorg Tees in a while, I’d recommend you check them out.  Orginally when you get to Snorg Tees you might think its just another crude graphic tee site.  While it is true that their shirts are grapic tees, they’re out of the box tees.  Its not the same dumb messages you see everywhere and some of the shirts even make you put two and two together.  I’ve pulled a couple of these designs out for a closer look.

Batman and Robin! Well sort of.  Its a bat and a robin in costumes! Get it?  Well… I thought it was funny.  Anyways, “Bat and Robin” is one of the new tees from Snorg Tees this week and can be found on sale.  Harmless and thought provoking, how nice to see in this world of ever-present cheap vulgar comedy shirts.

Price: $14.95

This next shirt might make you cringe, be prepared.  Its MATH.  “Pi Be Rational” might be nice for that geek in your life, if you want to show everyone how much smarter you are then them, or just to confuse people in general.  If you’re gonna wear it, you get the message.

ShirtManDude.com

February 24th, 2010 by Phil

Attention: not just another graphic/text tee one laugh and trash site.  ShirtManDude.com has some quality designs with truly funny sayings and themes, but they feature a lot of vintage musician and sports shirts.  The shirts are a 50/50 cotton polyester blend so they don’t have that %100 cotton feel, but they are just $10.50.

Johnny Cash Arm Wrestle” was what I saw when I first looked at ShirtManDude apparel and I will say its one of the funnier shirts I’ve seen in a while.  I don’t see a bunch of quality Johnny Cash shirts floating around so when I do see one I consider it a catch.  Very simple; no joke, no gimmicks, just a JC tribute shirt.

Price: $10.50

Speaking of JC, ShirtManDude even has something for the churchgoers.  ShirtManDude brings us: “Surf Jesus!”  I can’t tell if its a surfboard like its supposed to be, or if its a skateboard and Jesus is just that good.  I mean if he can walk on water he can skate on water, right?  Again, not too offensive unless you’re one of those real, real sensitive people.  Real sensitive.  I think the smile on the Sun gives it the positive image its supposed to convey.

Zero Boutique

February 21st, 2010 by Phil

We have featured ZBQ on TShirtReview.com before, but apparently not nearly as much as we should be.  ZBQ sent over their design “next please” for us to take a look at.  The first thing I thought of was Mario and the second Tony Hawk.  Tell me people riding bullets like skateboards doesn’t bring those two into your mind?  Great color to complement the graphic as well, the green makes this shirt stand out but not get that overwhelming obnoxious look that a lighter green can sometimes bring.   The website currently shows this shirt as not being in stock, but I’m assuming it will make a return.

Busted Tee Friday

February 19th, 2010 by Phil

Seemed like a short week to me, hope everyone else was just as busy and their time flew just as fast.  BustedTees continues to pump out new product and this week they have come up with “NSFW.”  Simple yet effective.  I sure with I could tag myself “Not Safe For Work” on a regular basis.  Good gift for that extreme person in your life who opens their mouth before their mind.

Penguin Tuxedo” is another new design from BustedTees.  I included this one on here because I like penguins.  Something about how they remain regal looking, even with that awkward body and the little wobble back and forth as they walk.   Plus I still can’t understand how they make it through those arctic winters.  This shirt truly is a penguin suit (well, penguin in a suit I guess).

Busted Tees Friday

February 12th, 2010 by Phil

Does anyone else have trouble getting on to BustedTees.com?  Is it just my computer or is this happening to everyone when they try to load the site?  It you can manage to load the page you’re going to see some sweet new shirts available this week from BustedTees.

1918” is a great shirt for Red Sox fans who want to really stick it to everyone else.  The 2004 and 2007 will be a slap in the face to everyone who ragged on the Nation for over 80 years.  So what if your two power hitters being on the juice is the reason the you won, its the world series!

I can’t really remember anti-Canadainism becoming such a popular stance before the South Park movie, but since then its become a mania.  BustedTees comes to us with “Blame Canada, for Nickelback.”  Now let me just say first that I have no ill-will towards our Canuck neighbors to the North, but I freakin HATE Nickelback.  I’m not talking about hating them now because its the cool thing to do, I’m talking about pure hatred since the first line off their first single hit my ears from the radio.  Anyways, for those who want to point some fingers:

TenBills Tuesday

February 9th, 2010 by Phil

Well folks, its that time that we’ve been fearing for a while.  TenBills is not going to be releasing any new $10 shirts until April.  According to TenBills.com, they will be busy “restructuring and revamping” their operation to bring the fans what they want.  In the meantime all old shirts are still available via the archive and they do have a 3 random shirts for $20 deal that will be going on as well.  We’ll be back with TenBills Tuesday as soon as they start up again.

SuperGoodTees

February 7th, 2010 by Phil

Just take a look at the name SuperGoodTees and tell me you’re not expecting one hell of a site.  I definitely was, and I wasn’t let down when I stepped inside.  SuperGoodTees is a nice change of pace from what we’re usually exposed to as it is a UK based site.  Its not one of those odd European weird character sites, its just a different spin on some good ol’ graphic tees.  Using puns and other clever literary devices SuperGoodTees rolls its r’s to success.  Here are a few of their more popular designs:

We’ll start with one of SuperGoodTees’ best selling designs: “Hug Life.”  Obviously a play on thug life and probably the option I’m more apt to choose.  Nothing really special about this design other than its in true-to-thuglife font, but its the thought that counts isn’t it?  Available in the traditional black, as well as 5 other colors.

Busted Tees Friday

February 5th, 2010 by Phil

Happy Friday everyone.  Is there anything better than finishing the week out on a Friday afternoon?  Well, other than finishing the week on Thursday and not having to get up on Friday.  Today we’re featuring one of this week’s new shirts from BustedTees, “Funtime Friend.”  I’m not sure the intended purpose of this shirt, but I feel like BustedTees left it up to the imagination for a reason.  This way it can be as tame or as suggestive as you’d like.  I think I would like to hang out with whoever is wearing this shirt however, because it just seems like if you wear a “Funtime Friend” shirt you’re a nice person.  Or at least a fun person (doesn’t have to be a nice person necessarily…).

Busted Tee Friday

January 22nd, 2010 by Phil

Remember as a kid doing box car races and the days of first place, second place and third place?  Well in this day and age to make sure nobody feels “left out” or “not good enough” parents have created all kinds of honorable mention ribbons and special awards.  Busted Tees has decided to take a stance and say enough is enough.  Enter “Participation Ribbon“.  So everybody feels equal and everybody gets a ribbon.  I think its a load of bull. 1st 2nd and 3rd place, blue, red and white ribbons.  That’s how it should be, the end.

Hope everyone has been able to stay warm and had a Happy Holiday.  This week there are a couple of notable new releases at BustedTees.

Help start the New Year off right by making the notable observation everyone has wanted to say that BustedTees has finally put on a t-shirt.  “Swine Flu” is hilarious and sadly seems to be indicative of more people than we should all be comfortable with.

Its Complicated” depicts another occurance that is sadly becoming more and more widespread.  With social networking sites originally intended for a target group of people (facebook and college students) becoming more accessable for the general public this opens up all kinds of doors that should have stayed shut.  One of these doors leads to a place where parents can now get on facebook and take offense when their kids don’t friend them.  Its not that we don’t love you, its just that you shouldn’t see those pictures of me at 2 am coming out of the bar.  Sometimes this leads to kids making friends with their friends’ moms.  Sometimes good friends.  But hey, its complicated.
